During EAERE 24th Annual Conference in Manchester (26-29 June 2019), CMCC researcher Shouro Dasgupta organized a thematic session titled Climate Change – Health – Nutrition – Labour Productivity Nexus as part of the COACCH project. The session combined analysis from multiple disciplines using high-resolution climatic data, longitudinal micro surveys, spatial econometrics, and Overlapping Generation Models. The papers presented focused on health impacts of climate hazards, impact of climatic stressors on labour productivity in the EU, and the effects of climatic shocks labour supply through dietary intakes and provided assessment of climate change impacts, measuring costs in terms of mortality and morbidity, loss in labour productivity and labour availability, and corresponding health impacts of nutrition on labour productivity.
